Class Styles
Jazz
Often associated with musicals, Jazz is also the style used by pop stars such as Kylie Minogue and Madonna. You will learn the latest
choreography to current chart music as seen on MTV, Channel V and at pop concerts and opening ceremonies.
Contemporary
Similar to the style performed by Sydney Dance Company – contemporary dance with classical foundations. This class builds a strong centre and
combines precision leg work with an ease and fluidity in the torso.
Classical Ballet
Provides a sound grounding in ballet positions and basic classical ballet movement.
Hip Hop
Street style dance from the Bronx in New York City. Free, funky and soulful expression of movement used by artists such as Usher and Missy
Elliott.
Tap
For those aspiring to be the next Fred Astaire, Billy Elliot or Tap Dog extraordinaire. A combination of old and modern freestyle used in musical
theatre.
Lyrical Jazz/Body Conditioning
Come workout in a challenging class that will keep you moving, burning (in a good way) and sweating. Focusing on strength, muscular endurance,
and technique. These classes will help to develop a strong and toned physique. An all-round total body conditioning workout.
Jazz / Hip Hop or Tap Combined Class
The beauty and the strength of jazz and Hip-Hop or Tap. This class develops control and balance through emotion and interpretation of music.
These combined classes are so popular! Children & Teenagers get the opportunity to study three styles of dance in the one lesson.
JFH
A combination jazz, funk and hip hop. The most current commercial style.
Stretch
This class combines elements of yoga with stretch components particularly suited to dance. The aim is to develop core strength, ease and
openness in the joints and a flexible, well balanced body.
Musical Theatre
A Confidence & Self development class for both boys and girls. Students study creative movement, voice control, musical concepts and express
emotions through dramatizations. Students finish off the year with a rewarding performance.
